The same knots are also used in a popular children's craft using vinyl "gimp" to make lanyards and bracelets. This is simply a rectangular piece of cardboard. You'll always be prepared; after all, you never know what you could use this for! Take 2 cords from one knot and 2 from one beside it, and tie a new square knot between them using the 4 cords.
